Awareness to ABA Practice

In recognition of the betrayal of the sanctity of the child.

Awareness to ABA practice – a wide spectrum media project exposing the abuses of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) practice in Early Intervention and in later childhood years.

The pecking of divergents is observed in many natural species. This deeply rooted pathological phenomena exhibits itself in homo-sapiens by their genocidal tendencies towards different races, ethnicities, heteroclite genders, and ultimately towards their own divergent children.

John Watson, Psychology as the Behaviorist Views It  –  “The behaviorist, in his efforts to get a unitary scheme of animal response, recognizes no dividing line between man and brute”.

Bob Wright, at Autism Investment conference -” This is the fastest growing industry … today we connect investment with opportunity… We need a National Plan to deal with an individuals with autism … There is $137 billion dollars…”

When  the genocidal pathology is bolstered by greed, then the human ethics are put aside, the quackery becomes the science, and the Humanity looks away and laments the necessity of intervention, however inhumane.  Then the autistic and other divergents become a lucrative business opportunity, the War on Autism  becomes  the autistic reality, and it’s weapon of domination – the ABA – the dreaded autistic nightmare.

The purpose of this project is to uncover the humanitarian abuses of ABA practice through the evidence of their own making, primarily using the video content such as Autism ABA tutorials, ABA classroom videos, etc. available on Internet.

The material we’ve selected so far includes the videos for identification of young autistic children and also the material for training ABA professionals.  The material provides a compelling record of how the theory is applied in practice, i.e. it depicts the autistic children diagnosed by the DSM-5 criteria,  and it also provides a visual and auditory record of sanctioned by ABA, practitioner-child interactions.

What comes to light is that autistic children netted by DSM criteria are healthy spirited children, and that the behavior of ABA practitioners as a rule not only disregards the humanity of a child but it also disregards the Human Rights law  [UN Special Rapporteur Report, pg. 181] .

The method  we have used was in selecting the episodes  of human interactions between the caregiver and the child, and explaining each interaction in a commentary by autistic people. These episodes in their wily pervasive treachery highlight the ABA abuses and its disregard of child’s human right to be raised with freedom and dignity.

The second part of the project is to use social media and other methods to deliver an eye opening media pieces combining the video episodes and the commentary to the attention of wider Autistic Community and our allies, and ultimately gaining the awareness of the public as a precursor to the inquiry and the subsequent abolishment of this practice.

Another avenue is to gain the awareness and support of select renowned scientists of the caliber of Steven Hawkins, Gregory Perelman (by many accounts an autistic himself), and others, producing a public statement denouncing this inhumane treatment

This project is already in progress; we have selected a number of videos available on the internet for training the professionals [ABA Autism training in the field], and identified and commented many interaction episodes.

Because these training ABA videos deliver [via audio] a strong suggestive message of inherent validity of the ABA practice and its justification due to children’s autism, it is important to be aware of this effect on a viewer and therefore to make every effort to view the scenes with unbiased eye [just as you would if children were not autistic].   The technique is to slow down the interaction and examine the facial and body expressions of all involved, frame by frame, as well as the sounds, in order to see and perceive the true happenings. This allows the observer to detect the bias and to see each child and each episode in its own light.

We are looking for Volunteers to take part in creating a compelling media campaign and introducing the ideas and initiatives that can be ultimately used to re-engineer the understanding and awareness of the public.

Since

NOTABLE: the anti ABA campaign of which we are a noted part is producing important results – a significant contingent of the “autism industry” is bailing out – psychologists and therapists avoiding any mention of ABA and any affiliation.
This leaves ABA behaviorists of Special Ed, and the ABA pseudo-scientists in a sinking boat. They are on a way out!    (Dec. 2018)

CURRENT:

A peer-reviewed article in a well regarded International journal “Cogent Psychology (Jul. 2019)” comes to a conclusion that ABA practice equates to psychological and physical abuse of autistic children!

Here is a quotation from this paper:

PUBLIC INTEREST STATEMENT

The rate of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has been increasing each year, it currently affects 1 in 59. Additionally, 35-50% of these children will remain minimally verbal or non-verbal. However, while the rates of ASD have been increasing, our treatment options have not. The aim of the current paper is to call attention to outdated approaches to treating Autism, especially for the nonverbal children. The current treatment options for these children not only goes against current knowledge and research on ASD, but while unintended, creates lasting damage and abuse which also goes against the very oath professionals take to do no harm. The current paper hopes to stimulate conversation on this important topic so that parents, professionals and paraprofessionals can begin to advocate for this vulnerable population and protect them from further abuse.”

This paper heralds the beginning of a change. We will win this fight! This can be done by us – the parents, family, friends, and yes the Government that should empower us to make the decisions that are not forced by desperation, stigma, prejudice, and greed.

To do this we need a reversal of Governmental policy; we need Governments to demonetize this abusive practice and to end the segregation of these children as well as their abuse.

We must join together to fight for this!
