Star Ford served as the lead architect for the company's flagship
product. MediaPulse is a multi-tier, scalable, and customizable
enterprise system that manages the assets, scheduling, billing, and work
flow for major broadcast studios such as Paramount,
Disney, Fox, and Warner Brothers.
Star Ford developed a touchless interactive kiosk application that lets people design their own ads for
the Honda Civic. Users interact through the Microsoft XBox Kinect to choose the background, and the car's color
and orientation. Then they pose for a picture, which gets incorporated into the ad.
Delivers On Time
With only a 3-week development window, we were able to pull together expertise on the Kinect, advanced graphics,
sound effects, a database and email into a comprehensive application.
Star Ford developed the Carbonostics analysis engine, a tool used by the
food industry to measure the impact of product choices on
carbon emissions, cost, and nutrition.
Usually a company expects software developers to just do the software -
but in this case it was a major advantage to find someone capable of
learning the science as well. Star was able to understand the domain
knowledge and communicate with environmental scientists in their terms
to
work out the life cycle carbon models. By having one person able to do
analytical modeling, database design, software architecture, e-commerce,
and programming, it cut down the time and expense considerably over a
larger team approach. The resulting product is intuitive. While most
carbon life cycle analysis tools can only be used by specially trained
engineers, this one uses a visual, intuitive approach. Star was able
to work through the complexity and present a clean interface that
empowers rather than confuses the user.
We designed and delivered a turn-key system to run fundraisers on a massive scale. The system not only
provides a user experience through the website, but also management and accounting functions to permit a small staff
to issue discount cards and run fundraisers for a fraction of the cost of traditional fundraising methods.
Delivering More Than a Website
Appearances were only one of the concerns behind building this system. We approached it from an accounting perspective
as well, and made sure that the design automated the flow of data among the three separate user groups: Network members,
Network businesses, and Community fundraisers.
Star Ford developed this integrated web database, which allows a jewelry manufacturer to manage their inventory and sales,
while allowing on-line catalog search and ordering.
Slideword is a crossword + anagram game with sliding words. It has an
intelligent crossword builder as part of the game,
so users can create their own puzzles without experience as a
cruciverbalist. The concept, design, and development was done by Star
Ford.

Star Ford developed the guide software, which permits users to do
advanced searches, reports, and statistical queries, with

Star Ford designed and developed NotifyPlex.com, a many-to-many messaging utility for use cases such as government transparency. It includes email send and receive, bounce processing, SMS sending, a public API, and dynamic entry forms allowing data schemas to be entered separately for each sender. This scales to millions of users.
