— LATEST: In support of ARM agenda, the following initiatives are currently under consideration –
A.  Autistic Governance – Extend self-advocacy and self-determination initiative to a next level by creation of Autistic Governance in Autistic Housing of all kinds, including in Farmsteads, and closed communities.  Project’s objective is to promote, advocate, and engineer this initiative.
B.  In the Education Project,  two sub-projects are proposed:
1) Awareness to ABA Practice– a media project documenting the abuses of ABA practice from early intervention and in later years.
2)  The investigation of an alternative in early education, specifically the Play Project, suggested as a revolutionizing concept.
C.  Extending Autistic islands, specifically retreats internationally.

Motions represent the ideas submitted by YOU with the purpose of initiating a project of your own under the Divergent labs tutelage. Ideas may be for innovation, as well as creation of business, services, entities, etc. Any person may enter a motion for an inception of an independent project under Divergent Labs (for details see Rhizome Program Process document in INFO section).

The following lists all the current motions under the Rhizome program, including the title, author name(s), description, date of submission, and the state of the motion. Each entry is linked to the motion’s abstract, and any detail that was deemed by submitters as public.

We currently have (3) official motions under consideration.

List of Motions

  1. Motion for Autistic Travel project
    1. Description: This is a three-prong project: I) Creating a program for young autistic people to travel the country to friendly autistic destinations as a way of learning, self discovery, and personal development. II). Identifying and creating such destinations; that are “autistic friendly and safe”. III). Creating assistive travel services to support autistic travelers.

  2. Motion for Autistic Advisory Services project
    1. Description: When it comes to advising on autistic issues, Autistic people are an invaluable resource and the ultimate experts. This project intends to translate this capacity to employment and services for and by autistic people.
    2. Submitted by: RC  on 3/28/14 (interim project manager).
    3. State: seeking Project Manager and Curator.
  3. Motion for creation of Autistic Store project
    1. Description: The idea is to have an online store for any products (arts of any kind, crafts, merchandise, collectibles, etc) produced by autistic/disabled person, or by a small business with large representation (ownership and employees) of such persons.
